I was able to download the API docs last week and I was able to replicate Interactive Brokers historical bar queries and realtime bar queries over the weekend. That was about one of the fastest integrations that I've ever done and it works perfectly!!!!" - Comment from Jason via Email

Hi,

New to IQFeed here. Try to run IQFeed with CrossOver on ubuntu 18.04 LTS. I installed IQFeed from CrossOver. IQConnect crashes after successfully installation. The backtrace file is attached. Has anyone seen this before?

With any difficulty using CrossOver with IQFeed, it's best to start with CrossOver support, since they can more easily interpret the Wine-related error messages and debug files. If you bought the "pro" version of CrossOver, 12 months of their support is included. If you did talk to them already, let me know what they said.

We can also review any log files IQConnect may have made. You can't open IQFeed, so you can't set the logging options, but any created files would default to the equivalent of C:\Users\YourWindowsUsername\Documents\. Something like /usr/local/wine_c_windows/users/yourwindowsusername/documents. If you can retrieve and send us the iqconnect.txt, and an .MDMP file of one exists, we can review then.

I have contacted CodeWeavers support, will post the response once available.
I attached IQConnectLog.txt as well for your review. There is no .MDMP file.

Thanks.

Gary,

I managed to make crossover work. After iqfeed is installed, I click Time&sales within crossover. Both the connection dialog and the time&sales windows show up. I'm able to login and the connection dialog disappears. But when I type into a symbol AAPL in the time&sale window, nothing shows up. It seems there is no connection between the IQConnect and Time&Sale. The IQconnect log shows IQConnect exits. The log is attached.

Please advise.

The first log (14) just says "Authorizations Thread shutting down (128) - Unknown error". That doesn't tell us much. The second one (15) is much more useful: it says you are connecting to the IQFeed server, but not to the socket. If you have a server connection but no socket connection, the server will disconnect you after 30 seconds. This is apparent in the second log; you can see the countdown.

If you launch an app (like Time & Sales), IQConnect.exe should then launch, and then prompt you to login. The log shows your credentials were accepted, so that's not the issue. Try doing things in that order; sometimes it can be picky. Alternatively, try just launching iqconnect.exe from the command line.

When using the API, you will be doing this anyway; your app will ultimately launch iqconnect.exe with the parameters -login -password -version -product. All are required. -version is your version number; if you don't have one yet, 1.0 is fine. But it a required parameter.

Sincerely,
