We have had several disconnects this morning, after one of which IQFeed Connection Manager did not reconnect. After a couple of tries we were able to get reconnected, but then got another disconnect followed by the error message "Socket Error: 10054 (WSAECONNRESET)."

Disconnected again. Reconnected automatically, but took 53 seconds.

Good morning Eric. I have not heard of any other reports and we are not seeing anything that looks suspicious on this end. But, when you say it did not reconnect, did you happen to notice if the reconnects number was incrementing in the connection manager? Also, just to confirm, which version are you on currently?

Tim,
I’m using 5.1.3.1. Sorry, I didn’t think to check for reconnections before restarting. But since the restart about an hour and a half ago we have 2 reconnections and 64 attempted reconnections. Seems like quite a lot of attempts.

If the connection goes down we retry once per second. What is your current uptime? Have things stabilized?

Tim,
Things have stabilized now. We have been up for almost three and a half hours. Reconnects and Attempts have not changed since my last post.

A Disconnect occurred again this morning at 2:03:22 (Eastern). It's now 6:30 and Reconnections is 0, and Attempted Reconnections is at around 15900 and still climbing. Our Internet connection is fine, as you can see. I have logging turned on and will send the file (or part of it) if you wish. I will just leave things as they are for now until I hear from you.

Eric,

I sent you an email with a link to a build to try and resolve the re-connect issue you are seeing.

Let me know if you don't get it.

Thanks, Tim. I received the link and am now running on 5.1.3.199. Time will tell if it resolves the reconnection issue; it didn't solve the previously reported problem of not connecting on the first attempt, which requies me to stop and restart my software.

We're still good: 2 Reconnections during the night on 16 Attempted Reconnections; total of 14 seconds lost.

Hello Eric,

Sorry to hear this issue is still persisting. We will take another look for places where this could be happening within the code.

Now I'm getting P records with no data. Do you do maintenance on Saturday mornings, perhaps? That might explain today's problems.

Correct, all the messages should be going out ok now, immediately after a restart we will do a refresh of the current data to the servers, so until that process completes some empty messages can occur.

I've recently started experiencing this issue as well. I get to my desk around 600a (about midnight ET) and lately my feed is disconnected.

I pull up the IQFeed stats and it shows 1500 or 2000 attempted reconnects, etc. If I exit IQFeed and restart all is well...until the next morning.

I'm on 5.1.3.1

thanks,
james

Hello,

We did have a brief period this afternoon where some users could not connect to a few of our servers, but the reasons why are still under investigation. Our apologies for the interruption, if I come up with something I will certainly let everyone know.

Two brief disconnections (of about 10 seconds) over the last couple days. But at 03:13:36 (ET) this morning it disconnected and hasn't been able to reconnect; attempted reconnections approaching 7000 at 05:10.

Handling this scenario where the system gets stuck in a non-connected phase is my highest priority right now and I hope to have a resolution asap. As soon as I can find something I believe works, I will likely be reaching out to you to help me test it.

I have all of your old logs that you have sent, but if you could toss me a current one as well, that would be helpful. Just so I am sure that the case I can replicate is, or is not, related to what you are seeing now.

Tim,

Today I had brief disconnect(twice around 2PM). If it helps, bellow logs from yesterday issue where it was completely disconnected. i.e. no quotes from 14.20.....nothing happened until 16.08 but logs are bit misleading as it says again disconnected...then connection reset.
