Would you check the data for @NQZ5 on 11/2 between 16:14:59 and 17:19:15 for a possible incorrect volume figure?
I'm trying to deturmine if this is a problem with the way QT builds Volume charts or if there is indeed a "bad" data line somewhere in that time span...
After backfilling with IQFEED using either @NQZ5 or @NQ#, QutoteTracker's raw data shows 305,139 volume @ 17:19:15 on 11/02/05. This causes QT's Volume Charts to produce many horizontal lines for the price bars with that time stamp...(around 50 dashed lines on a 6K Volume chart, 28 dashed lines on a 10K volume chart etc...)
Thanks
Note - sorry if the formating below doesn't work right...
QT raw data shows the following lines:
11/02/05... 16:15:45... 1610... 1610... 1610... 5 11/02/05... 16:15:59... 1610... 1610... 1610... 5 11/02/05... 16:30:15... 1608.5... 1608.5... 1608.5... -306307 11/02/05... 16:30:30... 1609... 1609... 1609... 53 11/02/05... 16:30:45... 1608... 1608... 1608... 53 more "normal" data lines follow until: 11/02/05... 17:18:30... 1609... 1609... 1609... 1 11/02/05... 17:18:45... 1609... 1609... 1609... 2 11/02/05... 17:18:59... 1609... 1609... 1609... 1 11/02/05... 17:19:15... 1609... 1609... 1609... 305139 11/02/05... 17:19:30... 1609... 1609... 1609... 1 11/02/05... 17:19:45... 1609... 1609... 1609... 1 more "normal" data lines continue...
Works terriffic Jay, Thank you
Once the automation is completed and I upgrade my service from Basic to Streaming Futs should I use the @ES# symbol all the time instead of @ESU5, @ESZ5 etc? i.e. would there be any differences between the data using either of the symbols (@ES# or @ESU5)...assuming I use tick, volume, range or regular minute frequency charts?
I remember reading somewhere that IQFeed has a Continuous contract symbol for the ES emini . If so what's the symbol?
And if IQFeed has this - can it be used for multiday "Backfill" or Backfill As" when using QuoteTracker software? I'm interested in doing this when the @ESM5 rolls over to the September contract.
Thx....
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I'm using the symbol @ESM5.
It takes just seconds to backfill 10 days of OHLC data for minute frequency charts. It was explained that QT accepts this type of data in a 4-data-points-per-minute format (or something to that effect). But QT has always taken that long to download backfill tick-by-tick data for the ES.
I'll recheck with QT support again about this. tkx
I'm having problems backfilling ES emini tick charts lately. I collect less than 1 full session of data for my ES tick charts when I backfill.
For several weeks I have had the problem. I do collect 5 sessions when I backfill for the NQ and ER2 but only 1 for the ES. Is there something I'm missing?
I've tried clearing all data then backfilling. I've tried uninstalling the DTN/IQFeed client program and downloading it again from the link on QT's site. http://download.quotetracker.com/download/iqfeed_client_2_3_0_2.exe Note: I've been using this set up for backfilling for years. Although it takes up to 5-8 minutes to collect the full 5 "days" of tick-by-tick ES data for my charts, it used to work very reliably. (QT's maximum amount of saved unconsolidated data for tick charts is 5 sessions/days).
I do not have any problem displaying backfilled minute frequency ES charts. The chart will display 10 days after a backfill (QT's max).
I'm using QT software for the ES emini (version 3.6.1a-2). QT's Backfill site description is IQFeed US CUSTON - RealTime (Subscription) and I use an .exe that has a checkbox for "Get Tick Backfill Data" .
My problem was resolved today - apparently some IQFeed connect IP addresses had problems.
Are the servers off-line this weekend? I use QuoteTracker and have been unable to connect in order to backfill symbols added this weekend... so I need to know where the problem lies, i.e. QT, IQ or on my end.
How about adding TICK for the Russell 2000? Might be helpful for trading the Russell emini. I searched IQFeed's site by TICK, Russell etc. and only got NASTICK and TICK....
Yes indeed! Thanks for the reply.
Nevermind - I had a brain fade...I wasn't using your data today...oops.
Here's a chart that shows today's suspected erroneous spikes http://home.ripway.com/2004-9/173257/TICKspikes.10-7.PNG I have been running New York TICK charts for months without these spikes...
Right forum? couldn't find "IQFeed Datafeed Support"
DTN.IQ Client Software Support Technical or operational support ..... Please post all datafeed related questions or problems in the "IQFeed Datafeed Support" forum (not this one)
Anyway - have been getting several spikes to >1000 (from <50)...how often is TICK data sent (every second, 5 seconds etc?) and do you filter the data?
Thx for the prompt reply!
Can you explain about the IQ Connection Manager fields?
For example, listed next to "Cients Connected" I sometimes see 2 or 5 and today I see 23... I'm only using one computer so is this number the total number of machines connected at any particular time, or the hops it is taking to get to IQFeed's servers? Had a tough time backfilling the INDU.X, @YMU4, NDX.X, etc.. when 23 was showing. Thxs
